Zenagen's Densifying Beard Oil has an *impressive* ingredients deck with 99% of the formula consisting of clean, all-natural plant extracts. It would've been 100% pure, except they added artificial fragrance, which doesn't provide any hair health benefits & only serves to delight the senses. Zenagen certainly did succeed in creating a delightfully intoxicating aroma with this product! The scent smells clean & fresh with a sophisticated masculine profile. It's very light though; it doesn't project or carry, and it fades pretty quickly after application. The Full Ingredients:Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Trifolium Pratense Flower Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Curcuma Longa Root Extract, Curcurbita Pepo Seed Extract, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Fragrance (*), TocopherolNow, I'm actually a female that purchased this product to use as a leave-in oil treatment to nourish my hair. Unfortunately, after slathering the oil all over my tresses, I developed an allergic reaction. An itchy rash consisting of raised red bumps appeared all along the skin of my neck & shoulders and up into my hairline. I thought I was safe to use this product since it shares many similar ingredients to what's in my skincare. (The exceptions being the castor & jojoba oil). I suspect one (or both) of those items to be the trigger that was responsible for my allergic reaction. However, when my husband discovered that this was actually a man's beard oil, capable of filling out his facial hair (which thinned due to chemo treatments), he quickly commandeered it from me & has been using it ever since. His skin is difficult & highly sensitive now (another side effect of the chemo), yet he hasn't experienced ANY adverse reactions to this product! The hair of his goatee doesn't grow evenly anymore, (nor does it grow as quickly as it did before the cancer), and it has a wirey texture. This beard oil offers an instant smoothing effect upon application & is beginning to soften the bristle-y feel of his facial hair. He's what I would classify as an occasional user - applying the oil only a couple times each week. We haven't noticed any thickening at this point in his beard's growth cycle, but I fully expect that to improve as a cumulative result of continued use. He's definitely enjoying this product as a part of his grooming process... he's anxiously watching for changes, and is excited about the idea of his goat being restored to it's former glory! Seeing him experience all of this with such positive anticipation, while continuing to deal with his terminal illness, just fills my heart with immense joy!The only negative feedback I have about Zenagen's thickening beard oil is that there were NO safety seals in place on this product to protect against tampering. In fact, the carton was open on both ends & the bottle fully exposed upon receipt. The cardboard carton was crushed, looking like it came from the bottom of a dollar general bargain bin. The tattered presentation was a disappointment & it totally fails to illustrate the fact that this is actually a high-end product made with premium plant extracts. The absence of any safety seals is what really bothers me the most, though. ALL health & beauty products should be factory sealed during production for the buyer's protection. This detail is non-negotiable. The lack of simple safety stickers comes across as negligence on behalf of the brand - like this protective protocol wasn't an important step or viewed as a necessary expense. After going thru a worldwide pandemic, ensuring product safety is one of the MOST important steps for Health & Beauty brands on the market today. This is a simple fix, Zenagen, and your product is worth the effort! Remember, you only get one chance to make a positive first impression.
