I ordered the VITA LIBERATA ‘The Remover’ mainly because I fake tan fairly regularly and I’m always on the lookout for something that actually removes old tan properly without me having to scrub my skin raw. I’ve used it a few times now and I’m really impressed.First thing — don’t be alarmed by the colour. It’s quite dark because of the charcoal, which looks a bit intense when you squeeze it out, but it doesn’t stain your skin or leave any residue. Once you massage it in, it feels like a gentle exfoliator with very fine grains. You can feel it working, but it’s not harsh or scratchy.I left it on for about a minute before jumping in the shower and buffing it off with a mitt. It definitely helped lift the old tan, especially the patchier areas around elbows and knees. It didn’t magically erase everything in one swipe (nothing ever does), but it made removal much quicker and more even. For stubborn areas, leaving it on a bit longer made a difference.What I really like is that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry afterwards. A lot of tan removers can strip your skin and make it tight, but this actually feels quite hydrating. My skin felt smooth and properly prepped for a fresh layer of tan. The inclusion of ingredients like glycerin and plant extracts seems to help keep things balanced.There’s no overpowering scent either, which I appreciate. It just smells clean and subtle.At £15.00 (at the time of reviewing), I think it’s good value for money, especially considering you don’t need loads of product per use. It feels like a proper skincare step rather than just a harsh tan stripper.Overall, this is a really effective, skin-friendly tan remover that also doubles up as a lovely exfoliator. It’s earned a permanent place in my pre-tan routine.
