I literally never write reviews for hair products, because I've never been blown away by any of them: shampoos, hair masks, leave-in products, any of it. At most they've worked okay enough for me to stick with them and give up my search for a while until I get dissatisfied enough to look for something new, but none of them have ever really lived up fully to the claims.My hair is difficult: it's naturally pin-straight and fine as silk, but after years of chronic illness, hard water damage, and just plain getting older it's thinned out a lot, which makes it hard to find products that aren't too 'heavy' and leave a residue. It also gets oily very fast.On top of that, due to the years of hard water usage, if I let it air dry it dries very frizzy and looks awful (the water is the only culprit I can think of, since I haven't colored it in years and rarely use hot tools). On the rare occasion I do blow dry or straighten it, it smooths it out, but it becomes very staticky and flat. It's basically not great whether I style it or leave it alone.I've been on the hunt for a good leave-in product to smooth my hair and cut down on frizz for years, preferably one that would polish my hair a bit without needing to use hot tools since that ain't great to use on your hair every day. I've tried it all: creams, serums, that popular brand of Moroccan oil, I even tried the ghost oil after hearing all the hype and surprisingly it still left my hair frizzy and staticky.I learned about air dry creams recently and thought I'd give one a try since I love the idea of having my hair look halfway decent without styling it. I stumbled upon this one and decided to try it because 1. I do like Verb's shampoo and conditioner and 2. the travel size was only $5 so I figured I didn't have much to lose (I wish more brands offered trial sizes to make it easier to try things before committing).And honestly...I'm blown away! I seriously can't believe how well this works for my hair. I wash my hair, squirt out the tiniest bit (it took a bit of trial and error to find the right amount that wouldn't make my hair look greasy), rub it between my hands and then spread it through my still-wet hair. And...that's it. Done.My hair tries beautifully with this stuff. It gets rid of literally 95% of the frizz, returns my hair to its natural pin-straight state instead of being weirdly wavy in some spots, and makes it look full and healthy and clean. Does it look as straight and perfectly smooth as when I use a blow dryer? No. But honestly, I kind of think it looks better since without the heat, it's way less staticky and flat.Overall I'm so glad I gave this a shot and will 100% be buying the full-size version once my trial size runs out. If you have hair similar to mine and have struggled to find a product to smooth your frizz/give you a wash-and-go style, it's worth spending $5 to see if this works for you!
