After having my son, I’ve unfortunately experienced recurring bouts of BV caused by a pH imbalance. My doctor explained that fluctuating hormones after pregnancy can make this more common. After needing prescription treatment three separate times, I wanted to try something that might help restore balance early and potentially avoid another trip to the gynecologist.This vaginal probiotic comes with seven individual applications. I decided to start with just one to see how my body would respond before committing to additional doses. Thankfully, one application was enough to calm the early symptoms I had started noticing, and within a few days everything seemed to rebalance on its own.The applicator is very similar to those used with Monistat, so it’s simple and straightforward to use. Because the gel has a thicker consistency, it’s best to lie on your back for a little while after application to prevent leaking.There are a couple of drawbacks worth mentioning. The scent is quite unpleasant and smells strongly herbal, and it tends to linger for a few days after use. I also noticed a yellowish discharge for a few days, but this appears to be due to the gel itself being yellow rather than any type of reaction. Wearing underwear you don’t mind potentially staining is a good precaution.While the experience isn’t the most pleasant, the product did what I hoped it would do. It helped restore balance quickly and stopped the symptoms before they progressed further.
