About This Item

• A lightweight, autoclavable, alternative to your traditional porcelain buchner funnel. The perforatd filer plate is made from high quality polypropylene
• Comes in two parts - with the top part snapping into the lower one. Once put together, a vacuum seal if formed that does not require greasing
• Filter paper required but NOT included - Best with 11cm filter paper - Moisten filter paper with a liquid to prevent initial leakage

These large polypropylene two-piece funnels are light-weight, easy to clean and autoclavable. The top portion snaps into the lower one, forming a vacuum seal that does not require greasing. The base of the top portion has a perforated filter plate.

Recent User Experience

I need to change my review on this one. I filter NET's and use a hand pump. Hand pumps will work on small Buchner funnels up to 100mm but this funnel needs an electric pump to work. Unfortunately, I tried this funnel with a hand pump and it did not work, so I assumed the unit was leaking. I taped the sides with duct tape, and still the hand pump was not able to create a vacuum. This funnel DOES NOT LEAK, you simply need to use a small lab pump with it and not a hand pump. United scientific sent me out a replacement and they were a pleasure to deal with. Now in case you want to buy a small pump, this is the one I bought and it's working fine. This little pump works and it's very cheap.
