Thai Peanut Sauce Noodle Kit ORGANIC

We were given the opportunity to try this organic Thai Peanut Sauce Kit with rice noodles, and we were really pleased with it. I was pleasantly surprised to find an actual sauce packet enclosed in the kit. For some reason, in my mind, I erroneously expected the sauce to be something in a powder form.The preparation instructions are clearly stated right on the package, and it can easily be prepared on the stove top or in the microwave. I chose the stove top preparation method. The instructions advise against adding salt when cooking the noodles, which cook quickly. The sauce packet provides the salt. The instructions say to save a couple of tablespoons of the water the noodles are cooked in to add when you stir in the sauce. I just used a measuring cup dipped into the pot before I drained the noodles to ensure I had more than enough reserved liquid. From there, you just stir the sauce from the included packet right into the noodles and add some of the reserved liquid to get the desired consistency. The noodles do tend to stick and clump a bit.I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor of the thai noodles. You get some salty peanut flavor, and a touch of a light vinegar flavor as an end note, along with a touch of heat that is cumulative, but not that strong. I probably would have liked a bit more heat and may add a bit of garlic chili sauce next time. I added some green onions to the noodles which added a bit of fresh flavor and added texture to the noodles. 🍜 Some of the serving recommendations include the addition of green onions, a fried egg, or some meat for added protein. If making it an easy night in, adding something like Innovasian's frozen chicken entrées to these noodles would be a great option, especially something like General Tso's chicken or honey chicken.The price is probably somewhat reasonable for the 6 pack of Thai noodle kits, given that they are "organic," but the price point might make it unattractive for people on a budget at ~ $40 for 6 boxes, or $6.67 a box. I do like the flavor and the fact that it is organic. It's definitely an upgrade from Ramen noodles, in my opinion. It may be something gluten-sensitive people could tolerate since it is made with rice noodles. (Check the label to be sure!) This is something I will most likely purchase again. It kind of feels like it could become an easy comfort food - maybe like a lower calorie Asian substitute for macaroni and cheese. Sometimes, you just want a hot bowl of noodles/pasta....
