The easiest way to make this soup is to fry up a pound of ground chicken until crumbly. Then add the seasoning packets and water. After bringing to a boil you can add the rice and then simmer for about 25 minutes. I found that it did not need to cook for the full 40 minutes recommended. The wild rice had cooked enough and the white rice was tender.I did add paprika, poultry seasoning and ground peppercorns. You can also add 4-5 teaspoons of Better than Boullion chicken base for more chickeny flavor. The soup packet says to add salt to taste but I found adding the chicken base gave way more flavor. I rely on chicken base to flavor all my soups!!!So it is nice to have everything in one package and it makes a quick chicken soup with about five servings!I am not a doctor, nor is this review medical advice. If you are on a low salt diet of course be careful about adding the extra ingredients.~The Rebecca Review
