I’ve been using too much heat styling lately, and it’s damaging my hair. My new goal is to embrace my natural curls for at least 3-4 days a week. I have long, fine, color-treated hair that has natural wavy curls but is prone to frizz. This trio of Ouidad Curl Refresh products eliminates frizz for me and leaves my loose curls bouncy and defined. Because my hair is so thin and fine, I only need to use a little of each product to get great results. The products are all large bottles, so these will last me for half a year or more. Here’s my experience with each:Featherlight Styling Cream: I have to be careful to just use a pea-sized amount or it leaves my hair looking greasy and weighed down. After showering, I put a pea-sized amount onto my palm and then rub my palms together. I apply to the bottom of my hair first, scrunching it up and then patting around all my hair. I use my fingers to finger comb my hair.Restore and Revive Bi-Phase Hair Mist: This hair mist is the next step. I shake it really well and spray a just two to three pumps onto my palm, then rub my palms together, bend over at the waist so my damp hair is hanging upside down, and scrunch it up focusing mostly on the bottom half of my hair. When I stand up, I pat the minimal remainder all over the top half of my hair, scrunching a little more. This method gives my hair some volume and lift. Then I just let it air dry being careful not to mess with it. The styling cream and this spray together eliminate frizz and leave my hair shiny with bouncy, smooth, loose curls.Flexible Holding Spray: This is a lightweight hairspray that puts a coat on my hair that seems to lock out humidity, which stops frizz from forming, especially in this damp early spring weather. I like to walk outside even in rainy weather, and I don't want to have a head of frizz when I'm done. I wait until my hair is dry before using this. I hold it as far away as possible from my head and spray just a little mist. It does not leave my hair crunchy, and my hair still has lots of movement. If I spray too much, my hair looks dull. The key for me is to use the least amount to put a light coat onto my hair. I can also use this hair spray after I’ve used my curling iron or hair straightener, and it gives a nice hold with no crunch. I think of it like a finishing spray that works for any style.
