Customers enjoy the mussels' smoky taste that isn't too strong and find them to be a quality product at a good price. These are really good mussels for the price. I'd honestly compare them with Patagonia mussels, the quality is good and they're meticulously packed in rows of four for good consistency from can to can. The mussels are all similar size, each is of course a little different but they're all roughly the same. The smoke doesn't really taste like smoke to me, but there's definitely something other than just olive oil flavoring them - either way they taste great. The insides do have a bit of a mealy texture, but I actually kind of like it, and it's nothing surprising for anyone who has had mussels before. The meat of the mussel is plump and firm, not rubbery *at all*. I find the satiety from a can to be fairly high, which is good considering the calorie density is also quite high likely mostly owing to the oil that they're packed in.The quality to price ratio alone makes these 5 star mussels, and a few things make them uniquely great.
