First, this does go on thick, but as it warms, it spreads nicely. I noticed a grainy texture to it initially, but that goes away as you rub it in. I have had products containing vitamin e with a similar texture in the past. The vitamin e is suspended in sort of microbeads that pop as you apply it (for freshness). There is nothing in the literature to suggest that this is the case with this moisturizer/sunscreen, but I suspect that it may be (I can't think of another reason for the texture). I am fair (natural ivory in drugstore brand cosmetics). The tint of this completely fades on me. I don't see it on, and it offers no concealing. I suspect it is just there to avoid a chalky look that mineral sunscreens often leave. My husband is olive toned and can get quite dark, especially on the back of his neck. I tried this sunscreen on him and I thought it gave him a slightly pink tone initially, but that rubbed away the more I rubbed this in. The tone of the tint is lighter than he is, but it still blended in just fine. I don't see lavender listed in the ingredients, but I think this has a slight lavender like smell. I would not in any way consider this feminine, and I think it would be just as nice for a man. It initially goes on a bit shiny, but it soaks in/dries quickly. I have worn it several times playing basketball, and it does not run into my eyes. Overall, I am happy with this. It is good for my face, neck, and chest, but far to expensive to use all over. It's a bit thicker than others, and I probably don't prefer the thickness, but it's fine. I don't think I'd buy this again as it's too costly. I do expect it'll last quite a while as it actually doesn't take much to cover my face as long as I allow it to warm a bit as I apply it.
