(When you are expecting something to taste like rice/pasta and it doesn't, it can be disappointing.) But when you are tired of eating the same old vegetables because you can't have potatoes, beans, corn, wheat, etc., this is a nice change of pace. It's super easy to use. No cooking, no hassle. I simply add it to my nomato sauce or skillet meal and simmer it for a while- it's excellent and filling, just like regular pasta or rice. The texture is good, the taste isn't overwhelming, and it doesn't have a pungent smell. I've found the thicker hearts of palm pasta can be crunchy, so I prefer the rice cut. Yes, it's pricey but we can't eat out and it's nice to have this on hand for a quick meal addition.
