MZ SKIN Advanced Retinol Complex Serum 1.01 fl oz | Encapsulated Retinol, Retinoid & Bakuchiol | Night Serum Targets Wrinkles, Pores, Texture & Uneven Tone

After using this serum for a couple of weeks, I have been pleasantly surprised with the results. I have only applied it four times over the last two weeks, as is the recommendation from its developer, but I have noticed my skin responds very positively to the treatments. First, I have used retinol in the past, and have had mixed results. Sometimes, retinol serums have caused irritation for me, but I'm happy to say that this formula did not do that at all. It's also important to keep in mind that while using retinol, you should most certainly protect your skin from exposure to the sun, as it'll make your skin far more sensitive to the ultraviolet rays. I live in sunny South Florida, so that is a strong consideration for someone like me. I apply it in the evening after my shower, and I love how nicely it absorbs into my skin. I finish with a moisturizer over top, and they play very nicely together. One thing that I noticed on myself personally, is that it tended to even out my skin tone. It offered a better overall glow of my skin, and reduces any blotchiness that may be present. I suspect with continued use, I may see reduction of fine lines. To put that into context, I'm someone in my mid 40s, so I require this kind of treatment at this point in my life. The scent is not terribly pleasant, but not off putting either. I think that it's actually unscented, so you're just smelling the compounds that produce the serum itself. That is something that I appreciate, as I tend to favor unscented facial products. Surely, the first thing that is evident about this serum is the price. It is on the very expensive side of things, so from that perspective I don't know that I would be able to justify continued use of it, unless I were someone for whom money is no object. It's the reason I have removed a star, if I am honest. I guess it all depends how much you value your skin treatments, so for some people, the expense may easily be justifiable. That being said, in all honesty, I have had the good fortune of trying many different types of skin care products, and while this one does perform extremely nicely, I will say that there are others that are half the price that can perform just as well. At least that is my conclusion from a small sample size, and my initial impressions. Perhaps my opinion will change over time, but for now, I would say it is a very expensive product. Performance wise, it does as advertised, and I've been very pleased with my experience. All in all, if you can justify the price, I'd say go for it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
