Merkur Classic 2-Piece Double Edge Safety Razor Gold Plated, 1 Count

I mean it’s the merkur 34. In my experience it’s an autopilot razor. People love putting feathers in them but I prefer not too because of razor burn possibility is increased exponentially. I put like a shark super chrome, Astra green, personna cc, or Gillette 7 o’clock super stainless and I get really good shaves. It’s not the closest shaver but it shaves pretty damn close. If you shave against the grain and start having issues just stop immediately. Some people can do it and some people can’t. That’s just life. But overall you can never go wrong with either the 34C or the 34G or the 34S. Kinda perfect. The only con I would say is they can be less efficient than something more aggressive. I mean it’s a low end medium aggressive razor. Typically I use it when I get tired of messing my technique up on other razors but theoretically this is the only razor I would ever need probably. I’m always amazed at how good the shaves turn out. Everyone should atleast use one of these instead of cartridge razors. I think society would be happier overall. It’s smooth for me provided I don’t use feather blades or something too sharp for my face in particular. Probably don’t use the blade it comes with. I’m not sure how long the plating lasts on this gold version but you have to take care of it. I clean all my razors with a baby toothbrush and dish soap every once and a while and I disassemble my razor after a shave, wash it and let it dry overnight aswell as the blade.
