I use these when I am oil painting. Sure, they keep my hands clean but, even better, I can paint with my fingers instead of brushes with these because they fit so well and I can feel through the material -- very tactile. I use paper towels to clean them when I switch colors -- or even better for cleaning them than the paper towels is Kirkland kitchen wipes. I found out from the company that Small gloves are typically a size 6 to 6.5, and the X-Small, would translate to a size 5 to 5.5. If I were buying regular outdoor gloves I would be a size 6, but for painting, because I don't want excess material mucking up my paint stroke, I got the X-Small. Perfect.
