I was able to walk with mine without them falling to my ankles, maybe because I don't have sticks for legs.These were given to me at the hospital's emergency room to immobilize my knee.These were perfect for me whenever I sat in my recliner chair. It kept my knees in place when I would go up and down the stairs. I have only walked with these from the emergency room to my car and a bit around the house. I would not attempt to drive with this on.This immobilized my knees better than my brace with hinges, brace with stays and compression knee brace. I was able to move the Medial and Lateral Stays for a custom fit. I could have cut the cushion or foam, but I chose not to cut it.
