I have waist length hair, and used this to fade out blue color I’ve been having done for years, to prep for a total hair refresh. It takes time but repeated use worked well. Each time I did one wash in the shower first, then towel dried and put it on again very, very generously and lathered it, working it into the hair well; covered with a plastic cap and towel and let it sit for an hour. Then rinsed and deep conditioned.I did this once a week for a month and it got quite a bit of color out. It helped my stylist use less color remover and bleach for my refresh, which turned out great! I highly recommend. It is high in perfume, but did not smell bad like normal vitamin C washes I’ve done in the past. This was SO much easier than mixing your own vitamin C washes which are slow to work and smelly; plus it didn’t dry out the hair too much at all, even with it sitting on it for an hour. I do recommend using a good deep conditioner after that will help with dryness.I also let my hair air dry afterwards instead of blowing it dry. I generally rarely use heat tools on my hair and this really helps keep it healthier in general.I can see this shampoo also being good for a gentle fade if your color is a bit too dark.
