Recent User Experience

I bought the 6-pack of Inca’s Food Maiz Morado when it cost around $28.90 (Last purchased Sep 23, 2024) and it was totally worth it. But now it’s over $45? That’s a big jump. The quality is still great, but I’m going to wait for the price to drop before ordering again. If you’re making chicha morada peruana, this is the corn you want. Here's how I make it the traditional way:Boil one bag of purple corn (15 oz) in about 2.5 to 3 liters of waterAdd 1–2 sticks of cinnamon, 2–3 cloves, and 1–2 whole star aniseLet it boil for about 45 minutes to 1 hourAbout 3 to 5 minutes before it's done, add fresh pineapple chunksTurn off the heat, strain the liquid, and let it coolAdd lime juice and sugar to tasteIt comes out perfect. Sweet, tangy, and refreshing, just like back home. It is awesome when served cold and with some Peruvian ceviche.Pro:Clean and whole purple corn. Good quality.6-pack is convenient and stores well.Con:The price jump from $28 to $45 is a bit much.If you love Peruvian "chicha morada", this is the real deal. The price went up more than I’d like, but if you can’t find purple corn locally, it’s still a good option. Just hope it drops back down soon.
