Image skincare is a brand I am very familiar with, since it is sold at the medspa where I sometimes get facials. Every product I have used from this brand has been solid, and a few have even been amazing.First of all, I am a cosmetologist who SWEARS by spf. Since I turned 30 (a decade ago), I try to also stay consistent with wearing SPF on my lips too, especially since the skin there is so thin, and prone to aging faster than the rest of the face...Unfortunately, most mineral lip SPF has a white cast, which is a no-go for me. This lip SPF has a chemical sunscreen filter, so there is no white cast thankfully. However, if you are sensitive to chemical SPF, or just not a fan of it, then this product is not for you.That said, there are a lot of things I love about this product, starting with the TEXTURE. The texture is the perfect balance of an occlusive balm without any of the stickiness/tackiness or gummy feel that a lot of glosses suffer from. The texture here is more like Vaseline than a gloss, but with way more goodies in it.Speaking of goodies, high up on the ingredients list is one of my favorite forms of vitamin c (THD, the fat-soluble kind that operates at a more non-sensitizing pH than standard vitamin c does). In fact, this product is chock full of skin conditioners, plumping agents, antioxidants, and plant extracts, which is honestly pretty standard for this brand, to its credit.Be aware that if you have skin allergies, you will need to read the ingredients closely. This does not have anything I am personally allergic to in it (no lemongrass), but there are a lot of extracts in here that could be potential allergens for some people, so be sure to check the ingredients closely before ordering.Also be aware that this has no color or tint to it... This is actually a positive for me, because it's perfect for errands and for everyday use (I rarely wear makeup and hate wearing lip color except on special occassions). Preferences differ, however, so choose accordingly (ie: you do you).One more thing (and I don't know if this happens to anyone else, or if I'm just weird) 😂 but sometimes I get gummy corners on my mouth after wearing lip balm for extended periods. This never, ever happens with this product, it lasts a LONG time on the lips without aging weirdly.And while it seems relatively expensive at $30, it lasts forever and doesn't need to be reapplied nearly as often as most lip products. Plus the SPF alone sets it apart from standard balms.5/5 stars 🩵🥰 Will gladly repurchase when empty. 👍
