Recent User Experience

I like how tasty that this set of 12 pouches "Hereford Jambalaya Dirty Rice with Beef" tastes as well as how quick and easy it is to empty the package into a bowl and heat it in a microwave for just a minute or two. I must say, that this is quite spicy, so those who don't like strong spice/heat may not enjoy this for that reason alone. There was meat in every single bite of the bowl of this that I ate, and I saw bits of peppers in there as well. For shelf-stable Jambalaya Dirty Rice with Beef, this is a very tasty version of it. The beef is finely chopped and well-distributed. I found this to be rather hearty for the pouch size. I ate the entire pouch (6 ounces) despite the back label stating that 1/3 cup is a serving size.I do like that it's not too bad regarding calories for the whole pouch, which if 1/3 cup serving size is 95 calories, then the whole pouch comes out to 285 calories and 12 grams of protein (only 4 grams per 1/3 cup). For me, 1/3 of a pouch (2 ounces) as a serving size isn't realistic for me/my family, but may be for some.Every grain of rice was infused and coated with spice and flavor, adding to the intense (spicy) heat and flavor, the heartiness coming from the beef and warming spices. One could also add this over a bowl of beans (particularly red beans) to make it a fuller meal, if desired for another quick meal idea, or to spruce up some boring beans or even atop some plain white rice.As long as one likes a hot flavor profile/spicy foods, this is certainly worth checking out when looking for something different than the standard pouched meal/sides options. Thanks for reading.
