4 1/2 stars rounded up to 5. The .5 fl oz / 15 ml plastic bottle (made from 80% post-consumer recycled plastic) of Follain eye cream arrived in a branded box (made from 100% recycled waste). Ingredients were listed on the box, and directions were on the box and bottle. There weren’t any safety seals other than the box, lid, and pump, but it took quite a few pumps before the eye cream appeared. I’m not a fan of open jars, so appreciated that the brand used a pump.The well-textured cream had a slight yellowish tint and the pump was easy to control. Rosa Damascena flower water is the third ingredient, but I couldn’t detect any rose scent from the very small amount of eye cream (less than a pump) that I’ve been using every morning for a little over a week.This cream contains a lot of good ingredients. I liked the way the delicate area around my eyes felt (softer, soothed, and moisturized) after applying it, and it absorbed quickly for me. The bakuchiol (a less irritating retinol alternative) and the peptide (palmitoyl tripeptide-38) should provide anti-aging benefits / help smooth fine lines. The caffeine provides antioxidant benefits and may help decrease any puffiness. There are also other antioxidants, including the Kakadu plum extract (terminalia ferdinandiana fruit extract), which is the one that’s rich in vitamin C.I liked this eye cream a lot for daily morning use, but will still use a stronger retinal/retinol on my fine lines in the evening most nights. On the nights I don’t I will happily use this eye cream.Follain states that they are clean beauty and that this product is vegan and cruelty free, but that info isn’t stated on the bottle or box (I wish it was). An icon states the eye cream should be good for twelve months once opened. “Made in USA” is stated on both box and bottle.
