EXUVIANCE Dark Spot Correcting Starter Set (35g Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish/2 pads Pure Retinol Corecting Peel)

There are so many products out there that claim to have retinol and are supposed to help lighten dark spots. I have tried many of them. So far I haven't noticed a reduction of my dark spots; they just keep growing in number and intensity every year. So when I tried this product, my expectations were low but I was hopeful. I started with the overnight peel and I could tell immediately that this stuff was strong. There were fumes wafting off my face and I had to hold my breath until I they evaporated. The residue is a little oily so my face didn't feel dry, but I put a light moisturizer on just in case. The next morning I could see that my dark spots had lightened slightly. I was impressed to notice anything at all. A few days later I tried the face polish and it seemed to be a good compliment to the peel. I feel like it helps to maintain the effects of the peel. The polish was sort of drying so I made sure to use one of my more hydrating creams.Unfortunately, I live on an island that gets a high UV index most days. I've tried so hard to avoid the sun since my 20's - using sunblock every day and an umbrella when necessary. Even with all the precautions I take, my skin is very prone to developing spots. So although I did see improvement using this product, as soon as I spend 1 minute in the sun (with sunblock), my spots will darken again. My point is that after using both the peel and polish for 2 weeks, I can't honestly say my dark spots are better right now. But, I believe if your skin is not as spot-prone as mine, and if you don't live someplace with a strong sun, I think it would be very effective for you. It can’t hurt to try because it’s much cheaper than going to a beauty clinic for retinol treatment and is probably just as effective.
