St Tropez Self Tan Express Dark Whipped Mousse. 200mlPresented in an appealing turquoise blue aluminium bottle with a press pump circular nozzle the product emits as a ball of brown coloured aeriated mousse , ready to apply .It has a strong not very pleasant smell which I don’t usually find with St Tropez products , fortunately , this one dissipates over time and of course you wash off after the required tanning time .Applying is easy with a suitable tanning mitt and of course after exfoliating and moisturising dry areas to avoid patchiness. It goes on smoothly and evenly , the brown colour a guide to coverage , and dries quickly.For the purposes of this review , I left one area of skin for 1 hour and 1 area for 3 hours with comparable areas of skin with no tanning product .Left on for 1 hour gave a light even tan that looked natural , the 3 hour tan although darker than I would usually tan , still looked very natural too. Once washed off there was no discernible smell.Important things to note with this fast tan -Be extra careful not to get product where you don’t want it , it stains not just skin but also clothing and goes very dark.If using on lighter skin , it’s worth moisturising under and over the tanned product on hands feet , knees and elbows - it blends better is less patchy and is easier to top up than try and reduce the darkness .I also managed to splash water on my arm as I washed my hands and ended up with a couple of white streaks that emphasised how comparatively dark this tan can go - avoid water until ready to wash off .So - very careful skin care , application and maintenance during the tanning stage and you’ll have a beautiful deep tan . I love the colour , not a hint orange that some products have .Be prepared to cover quite a wide area as it’s almost impossible to squeeze out a small amount of mousse.Another great quality, fast acting , effective self tan product from St Tropez.
