And these no-mix, prep-to-order, one-spoon, one-pan potatoes are ready in minutes, so they save you time and labor. Try these vegetable mix-ins: Corn and red bell pepper blend, diced carrots, shredded kale, zucchini and onion blend, cabbage, fennel, green onions, leeks, mushrooms, acorn squash, pumpkin, roasted garlic, turnips, or sweet onions. PREP INSTRUCTIONS: Pour 1 pouch of Potato Pearls EXCEL Mashed Potatoes into a 4" deep half-size steamtable pan. Measure 1 gallon (4 quarts) of hot water (170 to 190F) and quickly pour over Potato Pearls EXCEL Mashed Potatoes. Promptly stir for 15 to 20 seconds to ensure even distribution. A wee bit expensive, figure maybe a quarter per modest serving, but worth it for the trouble these save. The flavor and texture are great, just like homemade, though I'd prefer a tiny bit less salt. They're so very easy to make; for me I put a little bowl of 1/2 c. of water in the microwave, nuke for 45 sec. to 1 minute, add 1/4 c of pearls right away and stir them in with a fork. Smooth, delish. I you wait to stir it or your water isn't hot it will lump up a bit, so get with it right away! The bag makes a lot of servings too. A con: Potato Pearls are very tough to obtain. It took a couple months and more than one try by Amazon to get them for me. I hope this is corrected by the time I need more!
