This is a great AHA for those with sensitive skin. I use Tazarotene at 0.1% so my skin has been sensitized due to using it, but normally my skin is actually pretty resilient. None the less, I still wanted to add an AHA to my regimen to help get the increased cell turnover OFF of my face, but in a gentle AND effective way. The fact that the acids are suspended in a milky lotion texture helps to keep the acids from penetrating too quickly. I find this texture to be nourishing on its own, and I have added it to my regimen 3x a week with no issues. I use it after using my regular milky toner, and use it in the AM in lieu of my Vitamin C serum that day. I chose to skip using ascorbic acid during the same routine, just to err on the side of caution. So, if you were told that you can't use AHA's and tretinoin, you can, you just need to be very intentional about your routine. I don't use it if my skin is already feeling sensitive, and I don't use any other irritating actives in the same routine. I will typically use barrier repair products that night and the following morning as well, as excess irritation can slow collagen remodeling. I also like that this product contains pigment inhibitors like Azelaic acid and TXA. While it is on the pricier side, the bottle is a fairly generous size, and the fact that I can use it routinely makes this serum worth it in my opinion.
