This is a 7-day regimen to help strengthen your skin barrier and promote a more balanced complexion. Each of the 7 glass ampoules is filled with 2 ml of serum. It is vegan and made in Germany.I am truly surprised by how generous 2 ml actually is. On the first night, I attempted to apply the full 2 ml to my face, neck, and décolleté all at once, and I was just drenched in serum. On subsequent days, I massaged half of the ampoule—or even one-third of it—over my skin before proceeding with the next half (or third).While I appreciate the glass containers, my second one did not break cleanly with the provided tool. If your ampoule does not break cleanly, you should NOT use the serum inside. So, I ended up with a 6-day regimen rather than a 7-day regimen. I believe the jagged break is mostly my fault. I had held the bottom of the ampoule with one hand and the tool with the other, but I had placed my thumb toward the top of the tool when attempting to break it open. On all subsequent ampoules, I took note of the black circular line around the ampoule neck before placing the tool over the neck. Then, I broke the ampoule open by pressing my thumb right at the location of the line.Despite having only 6 days of this treatment, I am impressed with the boost in hydration this product gave me. Even before applying my typical night cream on top of the ampoule, my skin looked moisturized and refreshed. This was a luxurious treatment that I truly enjoyed using, and I was very sad when I had used my final ampoule.I appreciate the rather short list of ingredients, and I love that the ingredients are grouped on the package with a description of their primary functions. Of course, the "function" of the group of extracts is simply listed as "Biogen Plant Extract," which is the name for Dr. Babor's blend of these 8 extracts rather than a function. However, the functions listed for all other ingredients seem to be accurate.Despite containing p-anisic acid for fragrance, I didn't detect any scent from this ampoule. The regimen was just as gentle on my skin on the last day as it had been on the first, and I did not experience any irritation from this product. However, since it contains a variety of botanical extracts, those with sensitive skin should review the ingredients carefully prior to use.For me, the main drawback of this treatment is the price. The current MSRP is $60 for the 7-day regimen. While I feel that it is an effective treatment and I'm therefore not deducting any stars from my rating, it is something I would use only once in a while. It could also be a nice gift for someone.
