About This Item

• Red, beak-shaped Peruvian peppers with a prized delicately sweet flavor.
• Picked at the peak of flavor, these famous peppers are grilled for an irresistible smoky chargrilled flavor and a tender bite
• Tender with thin walls perfect for stuffing
• A ready-to-serve gourmet antipasto and kitchen ingredient
• Package contains one 12oz jar

Grilling a cinquillo pepper adds an extra dimension of smoky flavor to the pepper’s delicate, thin, sweet flesh. More slender and cone shaped than a bell pepper, the cinquillo's shape is the origin of its name, which means "little beak." That cone is a great place to put stuffing's, including chopped hardboiled egg, small pasta or seasoned rice.

Recent User Experience

So, I like tomatoes on my hamburgers, I like the addition they add in texture & taste, but I began experimenting by using other"like" tomato vegetables. Such as Bell peppers, "sweet cherry peppers" which were in no way, sweet, but more tart..Then I came across some "Sweet piquillo sardines" by matiz. I was like, what's this? I'll give it a shot. Turned out to be a pretty awesome flavor combo. The little peppers were pretty good. Which led to me to wonder, well can you just buy these peppers? apparently they are known, but a lot of people haven't tried them yet.So, I bought a square jar of these, & they turned out to be awesome on hamburgers & chicken sandwiches.. in replacement of a tomato. So here I am buying them again! To me well worth the money. The only down side of these peppers, is they are a bit slimey, for some reason. It reminds me of...like a syrup or something? But you can use a paper towel to knock this in the head.Anyways, taste wise they are good.Update: I've bought these several times now, and theycontinue to be a tasty alternative to tomatoes, & glad I haven'thad the bad luck other buyers have had so far.
