I'll be honest. At first I considered returning this because when I opened it, it didn't look or smell like the regular Moisture Surge. I'm very particular about SPF products and won't use them if they leave a white cast or make my skin shiny. When I initially put this on, I wasn't sure if it was going to work. I had to rub it in a little bit longer than the regular Moisture Surge and it made my skin look a tiny bit shiny at first. There is a mild fragrance, maybe a hint of typical suncreen but more of a soft, mild lotion scent. As a first impression, I wasn't sold because I had high expectations and it also wasn't what I was expecting.I've found that it does fully absorb into my skin a bit after applying. After that I can't feel it on my skin anymore and my face no longer looks shiny. So I've decided to keep it. I like that it contains SPF while still functioning as a regular moisturizer. I usually use Clinque's Dramatically Different gel in the mornings, but I will switch to using this on the days where I'm leaving the house. It should help me maintain basic protection from the sun on the chance that I go out so that's a huge skin care benefit. This is the only moisturizer/spf combination I've found that actually feels nice enough to wear daily, and I've tried many. I like that it has a gel texture and absorbs easily. If I were spending all day outside I would use a dedicated spf product, but this seems like it will work well for everyday life.
