Yes, this razor is a bit pricey, but is very well worth the money. My last Braun was an 8800, and lasted 15 years. I decided to go cheap and try a Norelco. After the first use, I was highly disappointed. So, I went back to Braun and purchased this unit. Being that I shave my head and have heavy/thick neck hair, it takes on both comfortably, and shaves as close as a manual razor. Being that it's self-cleaning, each (everyday) shave is barber smooth!
