BIOSSANCE Squalane + Growth Factor Firming Face Moisturizer, 50ml

I knew I had to try this as soon as I saw it. I love BIOSSANCE's products, and this cream sounded perfect for my needs. It contains plant-derived growth factors, vegan collagen, squalane, and peptides to help improve the look of mature skin. As I approach my mid-40s, I’m starting to notice areas that could use a little more fullness, along with fine lines on my forehead, nasolabial folds, and the beginnings of light crow's feet when I smile.I appreciate the focus on plant-derived ingredients. While I'm not opposed to human- or animal-derived sources, it's nice to see effective alternatives that are cruelty-free. Plant-derived growth factors are still relatively new to me, but they’re becoming more common and I'm glad to see it. Naturally occurring growth factors help keep skin looking plump and youthful, and this formula is designed to mimic that.There's no retinol or similar actives, so it layers easily with retinoids, either as a morning moisturizer or alongside stronger nighttime treatments. It's also fragrance-free, which I prefer since my skin is sensitive and reactive.I'm usually not a fan of collagen-focused creams, since they can feel heavy and filmy, but I like collagen when it’s balanced with other ingredients. The combination of growth factors, squalane and peptides made this formula especially appealing.The texture is plush but spreads easily, with a slight water-cream feel. It absorbs fairly quickly but does leave a temporary film typical of collagen-rich products. Thankfully, that fades within about 15 minutes, leaving my skin plump, hydrated, and incredibly soft with a smooth, rose-petal finish. It feels ideal for cooler weather, but may be too rich for summer.I've been using it in the morning with my usual serums and at night with stronger actives and/or a retinoid. My skin looks noticeably plump, fresh, and well-hydrated by morning.This has unexpectedly made its way into my favorites. Despite having a simpler formula than many products I use, it fits easily into my routine, doesn’t conflict with other actives, and consistently leaves my skin looking and feeling its best.
