Review for DOCTOR BABOR Microbiomic Moisture Glow CremeAfter ordering, it was a pleasure to try this truly fantastic day & night moisturizer. It features a unique blend of natural ingredients, including 8% beta root postbiotic complex (ferments,) prebiotics and mica glow pigments to not only treat skin, but to make it glow. I wasn’t sure until I tried it what glow is compared to shine, and there’s a huge difference. Glow is a pretty effect that’s not loud or overplayed. I have menopausal skin that followed a lifetime of dryness and excellent skincare regime, however, there’s ongoing struggles as my body adjusts hormonally, causing both the extremes of very dry skin and oily, depending on the day. I wondered if this crème might serve to moisturize during either situation and am thrilled that it works perfectly for me in either dry or oily mode. The results are long lasting and my skin feels nourished, looking less stressed.The Microbiomic Glow Crème is white and lightweight with a viscous gel-like consistency. It spreads across skin without drag, melting instantly with body heat and absorbs extremely well. The formula is very gentle. There’s a barely-there fragrance - it’s hardly noticeable. There’s an active amount of surface moisture lasting for about 5 minutes or less as the crème absorbs into skin. That absorption time feels like a refreshing, mini-spa treatment. As soon as I applied the first treatment I felt my skin’s surface tension relax and saw the glow. It’s an astonishing, yet subtle, surface effect. Though I really appreciate the ingredient profile, there are a few synthetics that I wished were replaced by healthier alternatives. Even so, they’re in small concentrations and Babor’s Microbiomic Glow Crème is 99% natural. I appreciate the foil induction purity seal Babor uses to ensure the product is airtight and hygienic.Standout Ingredients:• Glycerin one of my favorites because this humectant draws moisture to the skin, softens and plumps while supporting the skin barrier.• Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil nourishes and hydrates skin while acting as a skin barrier, helping absorbtion.• Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, a probiotic can enhance barrier function, promote renewal and improve hydration while balancing skin’s microbiome, reduce redness and water loss.• Cocoglycerides are natural fatty acids from coconut oil, its a powerful emollient and moisturizing.• Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides are natural fatty acids from palm oil known for their ability to nourish and hydrate while forming a protective layer, locking in moisture and helping to protect against environmental damage.• Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein moisturizes, soothes and has antioxidant properties helping to improve skin texture and hydration.• Beta Vulgaris Root Extract/Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract/Extrait De Racine De Betterave is known for its ability to hydrate skin while improving texture, plus it can protect as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.• Fructooligosaccharides are natural carbohydrate prebiotics that retain moisture, promote a plump and hydrated appearance.• Coco-Caprylate natural & lightweight emollient from coconut oil known to soften & hydrate skin, supports the skin barrier.• Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil moisturizes and is known to be a strong antioxidant,, protecting skin from environmental stress and can reduce signs of aging without clogging pores.• Acer Rubrum Bark Extract, from the red maple tree is also a rich antioxidant that protects from environmental damage while promoting collagen production, enhancing elasticity and reducing the signs of aging.• Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil has a high Vitamin E content, is used to moisturize and protect skin from damage while hydrating and softening skin by forming a barrier that retains moisture.• Pentylene Glycol, found in sugar beets and corn cobs, is a moisturizing humectant that attracts and retains moisture.• Lactic Acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that’s a gentle exfoliant helping to remove dead skin cells and improve texture and tone, it also attracts moisture and enhances hydration. Healthier, all natural alternatives are citric acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid or vinegar.• Phenoxyethanol us a synthetic preservative, considered acceptable if used in low <1% concentrations.
