I bought the best selling competitor because it was suggested by so many; I wasn't especially impressed. I bought a thirty year old adscope 603 at an estate sale for a few dollars which sounded much, much better. In fact, I was so impressed I called the company about replacing the eartips and while talking to them, they suggested I try this one; I have not been let down in the slightest. This is a great stethoscope for the money (and on par with models that cost twice as much). Yes, it's a bit shorter. Yes, it's a bit heavier. On the flipside, it cancels outside noise like no other, amplifies like no other, and I started using a holster. I can't tell you how glad I am that I bought it.
