The Aircast Air-Stirrup Ankle Support Brace is commonly worn immediately after an ankle injury and throughout recovery. I recently fell on ice and broke my fibula...I knew I'd be in one of these once I was out of the hard cast and boot (I'd broken my other fibula several years ago), so I went ahead and ordered it. So glad I did! The same one from the ortho doctor was $125 (my insurance has a deductible on DME)!Anyway, this is working perfectly. For those that say you can "never get it to fit correctly" - you have to remember that the part that goes under your foot is adjustable. Once you get that right, it will be comfortable and supported.I love that it can also be chilled in the fridge or freezer to deal with any swelling. This would be excellent for treating a sprain.It fits in to both my hiking shoes and my sneakers....it will stretch them out eventually, so I purchased an extra pair of sneakers so I don't stretch out my good ones.This thing is a real ankle saver!
