First of all, I know of no better base for a pizza sauce than this one. My generic pizza sauce recipe is:25 oz of 6 in 1 All Purpose Ground Tomatoes3 Tbs Italian seasoning1 Tbs sugar1 tsp salt1 tsp granulated garlicYou might alter the ingredients to your preference, but this basic recipe has served me well for 25 years. I make mostly deep-dish, Chicago-style pizza with it.The folks at Escalon take great care to grow world-class tomatoes, and this particular can's 6 tomatoes are a perfect blend for a chunky pizza sauce.These cans are becoming more scarce, so I'm worried what will happen to the price in the future. I always keep one can on hand at home. If I ever started my own pizzeria, this is the base sauce I'd use in all my pizzas and calzones.
